Begin Monday, January 10, 2022

UPDATE Jan. 11, 20211 - From Fr. Jeff Scheeler - The installation Mass originally schedule for Wed., Jan. 19, 2022 has been postponed.

Our Family Sent on Mission Installation Mass is at 6:00pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help – Ferndale.

The archdiocese asks us to invite our parishioners to pray a novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in preparation for this liturgy.

This novena may be prayed for the nine days prior to the Commissioning Mass for our Family Sent on Mission, beginning on January 10, so that it ends on January 18, the day before the Mass.

The Mass will include the Prayer of Consecration of ourFamily of Parishes to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and so it is fitting that we pray this Novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in anticipation of that day.

Novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

for the Family Sent on Mission

O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As you children, we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petition we place before you today...

Day 1:  Help us to satiate the thirst of Jesus for love and for souls.

Day 2:  As the world around us becomes increasingly unstable and dark, help us to find our footing on the eternal Rock that is your Son and in the Church He has founded and desired for us and for our protection.

Day 3:  Help us to discover ever anew the riches of the Church’s treasures, particularly in her sacraments.

Day 4:  Obtain for us the grace to recognize Jesus in theHoly Eucharist and the grace to experience the life-changing power of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Day 5:  Help us to be ever more conformed to the likeness of Christ, trusting in His Providence and loving Him at every moment – particularly as He appears to us in the distressing disguise of the poor we so often encounter.

Day 6:  Give us the courage to abandon ourselves to Jesus, always confident in His love for us so that we can grow in every virtue.

Day 7:  Teach us to pray and help us to grow each day in our love of Jesus and of the things of heaven.

Day 8:  Help us to be instruments of His Light to all the souls in our neighborhoods and community.

Day 9:  Intercede for the clergy of our Family Sent on Mission, that they be given the grace to be loving shepherds and wise teachers of your people and that their example of collaboration and love may lead all to Christ.

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We entrust to your gentle care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever. Amen.
